WE MUST HAVE A PIE!
STRESS CANNOT EXIST IN THE PRESENCE OF PIE!
- David Mamet
To say we're big pie fans is an understatement! Some of our most prized family recipes are those for pies. In fact, we even had a pie bar at Kelsey's wedding. In a time when the need for comfort food is at an all-time high, pie seems to be an obvious choice.
Naming a favorite pie is little too difficult, so we naturally opted for a grazing tray of a wide variety of the desserts: Pecan, Apple, Cherry, Pumpkin, and Lemon. We contacted our good friend MeLisa, the Pie Lady in The Colony and she made all of these amazing individual pies for us to enjoy! Since we met MeLisa last year, her pies have become a staple for our family and holiday gatherings! The story of how her local shop began is so touching, you can't help but fall in love with her sweet spirit. It's nice to know that each recipe includes a pinch of love!
Y'all! These sweet Cinnamon Leaf Crackers and Fall Dip are SO GOOD!!
Cinnamon Leaf Crackers
Directions:
Cut assorted leaf shapes from pie crust dough.
Place on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
Dust with cinnamon and sugar.
Bake for 10 - 12 minutes in a 425° oven.
Fall Dip
Ingredients:
1 can of cream cheese frosting
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1/4 tsp allspice
Mix together and serve.
Assembly is easy as pie!
We started with an oversized carved Hearth & Hand™ with Magnolia wood tray from Target.
One of our favorite tips is to shop the "day old" florist section for greenery. We picked up the greenery for our grazing tray at Kroger for less than $1!
We added this condiment bowl from Walmart to our collection a few years ago.
After filling the tray with the pies, we layered it with the leaf crackers, fruit, and a bit of whimsey from fun accessories such as our watercolor banner and felt acorns.
We hope you are able to sprinkle the holidays with fun new traditions and that your homes are filled with all of the love and laughter you deserve! And don't forget to...
Happy November, Sweetie Pies!
